We installed 162m2 of premium artificial turf in the summer of 2019. It was a great opportunity to really fine tune our installation and joining process. A large turf job like this requires more than one roll of turf, and therefore require joins. We install all our artificial turf joins using joining tape and a two part turf adhesive; so this bad boy isn't going anywhere!
We highly recommend always installing a concrete haunching around the perimeter to adhere the artificial turf to, rather than a timber frame. Since the ground comes into contact with rain water and dirt, a timber frame would eventually rot, and the turf would come loose. Using a concrete haunch ensures that the turf will stay adhered and looking beautiful throughout its entire lifespan!
We also installed a tegula edging detail, which we would always recommend when getting artificial turf, as it makes it look more realistic.
We only use the best quality artificial turf on our projects for both longevity and aesthetics. All of our artificial turf is provided by Tuda Grass, and we always select ones with a 40mm pile or more. We have found that Tuda Grass's selection is the most realistic looking and feeling compared to other companies, due to the thatch (mossy looking layer) that they include in their turfs.
This particular artificial turf used is Tuda Grass St Tropez 40mm pile.
