As soon as you enter the driveway you witness this set of oak tinted custom built vertical batten gates hanging at the back of the drive to delineate between the front and back garden. Due to the weight of the custom gates, we had to improvise with the posts by attaching two sleepers together; this would guarantee that they would hold the gate up perfectly for years to come!
The main bulk of the driveway floor is covered by oyster pebbles. We used our 3D design service to show us how different pebble options would look, and this was the chosen one!
We have been waiting for the moment where a client sees the Matipo vision and allows us to get our creative juices flowing with some detailed cobble work!
We chose raj green 100 x 100 & 100 x 200 cobbles as the colours complement the oyster pebbles and planting scheme beautifully. These were installed around the entire perimeter of the oyster pebble section, concentrated mostly at the front door and the entrance to the driveway.
We used a new product called FlowPoint Liquid Grout to point these cobbles, and we will definitely be using this project for the foreseeable future.
We had the absolute honour of having the guys from DBT Build, a building/landscaping company based in Bolton, come down to build this custom brick planter! We used some of the engineering bricks left over from the original house build to add a touch of the past to this modern installation.
The planting scheme for this project included some new species we haven't worked with before, with multiple species of Acer for colour interest, hornbeam hedging, Carpinus betulus, for privacy, and the old faithfuls Carex testacea and Festuca glauca.
The final feature to mention is the custom horizontal batten fence panels. We are never super impressed with the choice of panels in builders merchants, so we decided to make our own! Completely removable if required too!
